Alaska Earthquake Information Center:The earthquake was felt on Monday in Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city and surrounding towns.
The values of 4.9 earthquake at 3:24 pm PDT (1:24 PM) about 10 miles southwest of Anchorage, according to observers.
There were no reports of injuries or damage, but people have reported that the earthquake “shook strongly,” says Cindy Preller, a geologist from the center of the tsunami on the west coast and Alaska.
The earthquake was felt over a wide area in the state, including Anchorage, Palmer, Wasilla, Valdez and Homer. Earthquakes are not expected to generate a tsunami.
In Anchorage, Lisa Withers, the witness thought the car crashed into a building of its gift shop, which operates within the framework of Bell Nursery, which carries a huge selection of dishes and other fragile items.
“Some parts are covered with down from the podium,” said Withers. “Some clients are nervous about the sound the sound of glass objects.
