Nancy Dolman

Nancy Dolman, the Toronto-born wife of comedian Martin Short, has died. She was 58.

Dolman, who had been diagnosed with cancer three years ago, died at the couple’s home in the Pacific Palisades, Short’s manager, Marc Gurvitz, confirmed.

RadarOnline reported that the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to an emergency call at the actor's address on Saturday morning, but no one was taken from the house to the hospital at that time.

Dolman underwent surgery in 2007 for removal of a tumour after doctors diagnosed her cancer. The cause of her death has not been made public.

Dolman and Short, of Hamilton, met in 1972 while working together on the Toronto production of Godspell that also starred Victor Garber, Gilda Radner, Eugene Levy, Dave Thomas and Andrea Martin.

Dolman and Short married in 1980 and have three children, Katherine, 27, Oliver, 24, and Henry, 20.

As a actor, she was also known for the role of Annie Selig Tate on the ABC sitcom Soap in the early 1980s. She retired from acting in 1985.

Dolman and Martin have 3 children together, Katherine, Oliver and Henry. In 1985 Dolman decided to retire from show business in 1985 to focus on her family.
