He was involved in a single car accident yesterday evening, and according to the police, Mel Gibson is doing fine and wasn’t drinking at the time of the incident.
The official California Highway Patrol report states, "Mel Gibson was alone and driving southbound on Malibu Canyon Road south of the tunnel. For unknown reasons, Mr. Gibson steered his car to the right and struck the rock hillside."
"There were no objective symptoms of intoxication, any level of impairment and we've ruled out speeding as well based on the damage to the car, which was moderate. Mr. Gibson was alert, oriented and cooperative."
Based on the circumstances, it looks like Gibson will avoid any additional drama. "This has been ruled an accident," said the cops. “It could've happened to anyone."
