Mckinney Shooting



A shooting this morning near Collin College in McKinney, Texas, has ended now that the shooter is dead. The Texas college was in lockdown for much of the morning, but USA Today reports that the shooting suspect has been confirmed dead.

” The campus was put on lockdown immediately, and students were notified through the college’s emergency alert system,” the college said on its website.

The shooting took place near the McKinney police department. The AFP reports that the shots were directed at the police stations. No students, faculty, or staff were injured in the shooting. The shooter has been confirmed dead, but it isn’t clear if the shooter took his own life, or if he was killed by police.

According to CNN, the shooter was in an open field, shooting at random cars, the police station, and people that passed by.

Collin College was in lockdown for about two hours. Campus activities have since resumed.
