Derek Underwood: Farrah Abraham’s Boyfriend

Derek Underwood is Farrah Abraham’s boyfriend and the father to her baby Sophia Laurent Abraham. The Teen mom recently opened up about his death, and what she is going through. Read more and see photos and video here.

As a fan of the show Teen Mom, I have become very attached to the girls. Having just had a child myself, I know that it is no easy feat. I am 28, married, and a college graduate. These girls are not even out of high school, and in may circumstances, on single mothers.

As we rolled into the second season of Teen Mom it was driving me absolutely bonkers not knowing a thing about Sopiha’s father. I was curious – who is Spohia’s father? What happened to him? Why did he and Farrah split?
Well, it was finally revealed when Farrah went to counseling and began opening up about him. She told the counselor that he died while she was pregnant. She also said that her parents never really acknowledged her loss. The whole thing is simply tragic. We have a young couple who finds themselves pregnant. Her parents are unsupportive of their relationship and they go through a rough patch. Derek ends up dying tragically in a car accident.
If for no other reason, Farrah’s parents should grieve for the fact that baby Sophia will never get to know her father. That is just heartbreaking. Never mind the fact that he died way too young, before his life had even begun.
My heart goes out to Farrah, who I once though of as impatient, sassy, and often times mean. She has a reason for all of her anger. I hope she is able to work through it and be a strong woman and role model for her little baby girl, and teach Sophia all of the wonderful things she should know about her dad.
